An independent Kagome roleplay blog
*I ship SessKag, but that does not mean I wont ship anything else.
Sesshomaru was about to reply when a sharp snapping noise diverted his attention. He stood and unsheathed Bakusaiga. In his human hands, it was an ordinary sword, but it was better than nothing. “Please don’t hurt me! I’m just a messenger!” the demon pleaded. He was young, around his early teens in human years. “I was told to bring tell you this: if you wish for the antidote, give up the miko. If you wish to protect your little girl and anyone you associate with, surrender your lands.” Sesshomaru seethed, “who is your master? I will respond to none but him.” The young demon frantically shook his head, he told the man in front of him that he wasn’t allowed to know his master’s identity for this specific reason. “Then tell your master to confront me himself, and I’ll answer him,” Sesshomaru replied. The messenger nodded and practically tripped over himself to run away. What should he do? The options weren’t favorable. He ran through multiple scenarios and for many he didn’t come out fully victorious. He glanced at Kagome. If he gave her to the demon, he be restored, but what were the consequences? Well Inuyasha would definitely lose control and Rin would be devastated. He figured he had a little more time to figure out a plan before He confronted him.
Kagome’s eyes darted to Sesshomaru when the demon demanded that he hand her over, to her relief the western lord didn’t agree. He instead demanded that the demon tell his lord that he would only give his answer in person and the demon left. But what was his answer, he glanced at her as he resheathed his sword and she immediately looked away.
If he gave her up he got the antidote, though the demon’s master could very well be tricking them and once he had Kagome would give Sesshomaru a vile of poison instead. And who knew how long the antidote could take to take effect, the initial curse had obviously taken some time because he’d made it to Kaede’s village and had been in the middle of talking to her when it had happened. No the only perk of giving into the plan was that he might get the antidote if the person that had cursed him was an honorable man, something she highly doubted.
Another thing bothered her as well, why did they want her? Why was she so special?
Turning her glance up to look at Sesshomaru through the fringe of her bangs, she found that he wasn’t watching her but instead looked to be in serious and deep thought. She watched him for a long time until he glanced down at her and she had to look away.
